Air Caledonie
Air Caledonie is the only airline serving regularly the whole domestic network of New Caledonia. Created in 1955 by a handful of aviation enthusiasts, the company carried in its 2009-2010 fiscal year 369,905 passengers, and over 1,400 tons of freight. It totaled a sales figure of 3.2 billions CFP over the year.
M. William Ihage is the General Manager of the company and M. Nidoish Nasseline is the president of the Board of directors.
The board of directors comprises the Government of New Caledonia, the South Province, the Loyalty Islands Province and the North Province.
The Fleet
The company’s fleet was composed, in January 2010, of:
- 2 ATR 72-500 that are the largest aircrafts of the fleet that can seat up to 68 each.
- 1 ATR 42-500 that can seat up to 48. It was received on the 11th of July 2006 and put into service on the 19th of July 2006.
In June 2005, Air Caledonie ordered an ATR 42-500 and two ATR 72-500, that were delivered in 2006 and 2007, to replace its ATR 42-320 that were getting too old. It kept however its Dornier, that was well adapted to serve Tiga and Belep, until 2009. The ATP 4-500 (F-OIPI) arrived on the territory on July 11 2006 and the first ATR 72 (F-OIPN) arrived on November 24 2006. The second ATR 72 (F-OIPS) was received on October 26 2007 and started its first commercial rotation on October 29, ending the replacement of the fleet.
Air Caledonie flies from Magenta-Magenta, to 8 of the most attractive destinations; the Loyalty Islands (Maré, Lifou, Ouvéa and Tiga), the Ile of Pines, the North Province (Koné, Koumac and Bélep). contributing in opening tourism and developing economic links to the island population is the company’s day to day life.

FREE BAGGAGE ALLOWANCE
You may carry some Baggage, free of charge, subject to our conditions and limitations, which are available upon request from us or our Authorised Agents. The level of Baggage allowance will generally be shown on your ticket.
EXCESS BAGGAGE
You will be required to pay a charge for carriage of Baggage in excess of the free Baggage allowance. These rates are available from us upon request. Payment of excess baggage charges does not guarantee the Baggage will travel on the same flight as the passenger.
Special Assistance
Acceptance for carriage of unaccompanied children, incapacitated persons, pregnant women, persons with illness or other people requiring special assistance is subject to prior arrangement with us. Passengers with disabilities who have advised us of any special requirements they may have at the time of ticketing, and been accepted by us, shall not subsequently be refused carriage on the basis of such disability or special requirements.
