Perth
Get active and enjoy the sunshine, natural parklands and beach lifestyle of Perth, one of the country’s most beautiful cities and the capital of Western Australia.
Perth is Western Australia’s center for the arts, craft, culture and entertainment. This vibrant city is home to many of the State’s major arts and cultural attractions and host to numerous festivals and events.

Central to the Art City walk is Perth’s CBD (Central Business District). Along St George’s Terrace are examples of diverse architecture ranging from early colonial buildings to contemporary developments. From the Terrace you can experience shopping in the malls and arcades or visit Barrack Square and Perth’s spectacular shoreline.
On a walk through Perth’s Cultural Centre to Northbridge, you will find the Art Gallery of WA, the WA Museum and the State Library. Renowned for being Perth’s cultural and entertainment district, Northbridge offers a number of fine restaurants, cafes and great galleries to enjoy.
Australia’s leading Aboriginal theatre company, Yirra Yaakin, is located in the City, as are a number of Indigenous art and craft retailers. The Western Australia Museum and Art Gallery of Western Australia both maintain exhibitions showcasing Indigenous culture.
In the evening, immerse yourself in music, as venues come alive with the sounds of local and interstate bands. If classical music is more to your liking, the acoustically magnificent Perth Concert Hall offers regular performances by the West Australian Symphony Orchestra, as well as shows by touring artists.
At the City’s many theaters, which include the Edwardian-era His Majesty’s Theatre, you can enjoy performances by the West Australian Ballet, the West Australian Opera, the State’s leading theater companies and emerging young artists.
Perth’s performing arts companies stage numerous events in spectacular natural settings during the warmer months of December to April. Take a picnic, a blanket, and relax while you are entertained under the stars.
Over 80 kilometers (50 miles) of white sandy beaches make Perth’s coast ideal for swimming and surfing.
